Press Clipping June 2025

Period: 01-31. June 2025

The disagreements between the current and previous governments on the extent and success of the implementation of the IPARD program continued in June. Macedonian media outlets once again published statements by the previous and current Ministers of Agriculture.

MP Ljupčo Nikolovski, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in the previous government, came out with sharp criticism. His statement was published by Press 24 under the title: “Bad Government Policies in Agriculture.”

  1. “In just 11 months, we see that agriculture is regressing, farmers are left alone. The return to the old model of subsidization, the abolition of advance payments, of programs for small food producers, the reduction and delay of subsidies for livestock farmers, the delay of green oil, the lowest growth in exports, a complete return to the IPARD 3 program, shows how bad the government’s policies in agriculture are,” SDSM MP Ljupco Nikolovski said in “Topic of the Day” on Sitel news. Nikolovski said that the Government has neglected European funds, where we were leaders, and that is the IPARD program.

  1. In response to the attacks, the director of the Payment Agency, Ilija Stoilev, reacted by calling on Nikolovski to publicly admit that the disaster with IPARD 3 began back in 2023 when he was a minister and wanted to insert his target group, to additionally apply. This statement by director Stoilev was communicated to the public in his guest appearance on the podcast “VMRO-DPMNE Speaks”. The news was shared by Plus Info and Zelena Berza.

  1. The negative narrative that marked the beginning of the month was significantly reduced by the statement of the director of the Agency for Financial Support in Agriculture and Rural Development, Ilija Stoilev, who announced that two new calls for proposals from the IPARD 3 program will be announced by the end of the year. A new call for Measure 7 is expected in September, and a public call for Measure 7 will be announced by the end of December 2025. This announcement changed the focus of the public, the media published content with useful information and emphasized the new opportunity to use European money.
