The beginning of 2026 was marked by information about an approved indictment for abuses of the IPARD Programme. The possible corruption scandal that began in 2025 has gained a new dimension, the Basic Criminal Court Skopje, has opened a case for financial malfeasance and bribery in connection with the IPARD Programme.

The news was reported by 12 Macedonian media, who actively followed the procedure for resolving the case.

1. The media published the news with almost the same headline: “Indictment for abuse of the IPARD Programme approved”.

Following an investigation, a public prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office GOKK today filed an indictment with the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje against one person accused of committing the crime of Giving a Bribe and the crime of Giving a Reward for Unlawful Influence, three people who committed the crime of Receiving a Reward for Unlawful Influence, and one person is charged with the crime of Receiving a Bribe.

2. The Council for the Evaluation of the Indictment Act at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje adopted a decision in full approving the indictment submitted by the Basic Prosecutor’s Office for the prosecution of organized crime and corruption, after which a criminal case was formed, related to the abuses of the IPARD Programme.
